What is AltStream Online?

AltStream Online is an alternative streaming platform that lets creators broadcast interactive video experiences to viewers worldwide.

How does low-latency viewing work?

We use WebRTC for sub-second live streams and HLS with a short segment duration for fallback. The client dynamically switches between them to keep latency under 1 second when conditions are good.

Getting started as a streamer

1. Sign up and verify your email.
2. Generate a stream key on the Stream Settings page.
3. Configure your broadcasting software (OBS, Streamlabs, etc.) with the provided RTMP endpoint and stream key.
4. Start streaming – your channel will go live automatically.
5. Use the dashboard to monitor stream health and engage with chat.

Viewer troubleshooting

• Playback is buffering or lagging: Check your network connection and try switching to the “HLS only” mode in the player settings.
• Audio is missing: Make sure your browser allows autoplay with sound – the player starts muted until you click the unmute button.
• Chat messages aren’t appearing: Refresh the page or clear your browser cache.
